6 Missing Retainer Renders Iron UselessLast night I needed to solder a power post on a laptop motherboard.. you know those pesky power plugs that get stressed and suddenly your laptop won't charge up?  It was one of those.  I go grab my Velleman VTSS5U temperature controlled soldering iron and WTF!! The tip retainer is missing.  I'd been carrying it around in a bag for remote use and the thing must have got knocked off moving around somewhere. I looked and looked but can't find it .. tried wedging in the tip just to do one job but no good.  I search and search on line but can't find a replacement part so I go to

Hi

I have a VTSS5 Soldering Station and lost the part that screws on the end of the iron to hold the tip in place during a recent move.

So I was really hoping I could get another one somehow .. it's just the little part that screws on the end but I can't find anywhere to source another one.  It's an otherwise great little iron!

Please let me know how I can order one

Thanks a lot!

FANTASTIC!  This level of customer support from a large international corporation is nearly unheard of.  I was expecting to at least pay for shipping.  And keep in mind, the VTSS5 soldering iron is a budget item -- You can pick one up for 20-30 bucks and Vellemen sends me the part for FREE!

So Kudos to Velleman -- I highly recommend this company.  The soldering iron is great and the support is even better

PS: just to follow up the part arrived in the mail a few days later and the iron is back in use! I was so jazzed to not have to buy another temp controled iron.
